Carléna has a tremendous talent to lead her clients to reach their fitness goals. I first began training with Carléna 5 years ago. Carléna has been my trainer for 8 years. I am convinced of her work. Carléna is extremely competent and knowledgeable regarding our body and how it works. Hence she will diagnose root causes of issues quickly and set up corrective action, I am often surprised that the root cause is not something I would have thought of. She has and is always spot on the cause and addressed this quickly and effectively. Secondly, she is very attentive to you, how you move, what you need and how to scale exercises. She never risks injuries or dulls you with mechanical repetitions. Carléna really cares for your long term health and fitness, you can trust the journey, becoming more agile, stronger and retain a healthy body while enjoying the process. When I joined my local gym 9 years ago, I had no intention of working with a trainer until I started to observe Carléna. When I first met her, she had not yet started training. But it was clear, she, like me, was dedicated to fitness! She got her workouts in no matter what, whenever her scheduled allowed, whether it was very early in the morning, or very late at night. I was thrilled when I learned that she became a personal trainer at my gym. I watched her interact with her clients with the same attention, enthusiasm and dedication as she put into her own workouts. I watched her train clients of all levels, ages, and body types, those with physical limitations to gifted athletes. It was at that point that I decided to work with her. Surely she could support me in achieving my goal to become stronger and build muscle. Over the years she has helped me identify areas that needed attention and worked with me to correct them. Because of Carléna I understand the benefit of functional moves and stretching. At the time I did not realize it but these unconventional moves all benefited me and assisted me in achieving my ultimate goal, getting stronger and building muscle. She is patient with challenging personalities like mine, and understands that fitness is a lifetime journey. I am thankful to work with Carléna.
I highly recommend training with Carléna Henderson. I spotted her working out with clients at a local gym and watched her for years before I finally approached her to discuss training together. She is as knowledgeable about anatomy and fitness as all of the professional physical therapist that I have worked with over the years. I am a 25 year veteran firefighter with injuries all over the place (neck, back, shoulders, knees, other joints). Carléna is helping me to increase not only my strength, but my flexibility too. There have been MANY days (in our past 2 years together) when she has a workout plan for me and when I show up for our session one of my injuries has flared up. She is so knowledgeable that she can quickly pivot and carefully put my broken body on a course towards healing much faster then if I was on my own. With gyms being closed for months due to Covid, she can still make workout sessions productive. Instead of sweating in the gym, I am sweating and getting strong in my own home.
